Teaching Philosophy

Welcome to My Studio!
You are taking the brave next steps toward your long term growth and learning. It’s a daunting journey at times, but with good mentorship and a supportive community, I believe learning trombone--and getting better at it--becomes easier and more fun!

  • Here's how we do that:Provide you opportunities to connect with like-minded students, including a studio icebreaker party (there will be pizza).

  • Opportunities to perform for your community, and guidance on creating those opportunities for yourself, such as recitals and performing in a holiday trombone choir (it’s not scary and actually REALLY fun!).

  • Opportunities to meet, work with, and pick the brains of music industry professionals (yes, you get to meet famous people).

This is all in addition to honing in on the fundamentals of good trombone playing, all done in a fun, age-appropriate manner that’s at your pace. Not to mention you’re working with a USC alumnus with 10+ years of music industry experience.

Sounds good, right?
